Wendy Wilson, RN, MSN, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner at the ETMC First Physicians clinic in Henderson. She said her childhood in rural Texas helped her realize the need for primary care providers in areas like Henderson. “My whole goal in the community is to increase access to quality care that’s affordable.”
Wilson sees patients age 2 and up, doing health promotion while offering preventive care and treating acute and chronic illnesses. “I believe in empowering patients by collaboratively developing a comprehensive treatment plan that considers the patient’s physiological, psychological, social, cultural, environmental and spiritual needs.”
What’s the most rewarding part of her work? “Watching patients improve their quality of life. I think the ultimate goal is not just getting better, but improving their quality of life.”
