Family medicine physician M. Joyce Starling, MD, comes from a long line of Henderson residents. “Both sides of my family have been around here since the mid-1800s.”
Helping people of the area also runs deep in her roots. “We were brought up to believe that the more good you do for others, the more good comes back to you.”
Though she served as an emergency room physician while her children were growing up, Dr. Starling recently made the shift back to family medicine. “Primary care is my main love. I enjoy the continuity of care that comes with following my patients. I’m more involved in preventive care and helping people stay healthy.”
In addition to caring for people at the ETMC First Physicians family health clinic in Henderson, Dr. Starling has done good for others by volunteering for a variety of medical committees and community organizations.
