ETMC Jacksonville volunteers make 900 hats for local charities

November 28, 2017

The ETMC Jacksonville Ladies’ Auxiliary volunteers recently donated multiple bags of handmade hats to several charities throughout Cherokee County. According to several of the “pink ladies,” they make about 900 hats every year.

The charities that received hats this year include: Clothes Closet (donations picked up by Mickey Gear); Crisis Center (donations picked up by Kayla Lawson); Living Alternatives (donations picked up by Rhonda Edwards); Hospice of East Texas (donations picked up by Freida Melvin); Rainbow Room (donations picked up by Barbara Hugghins and Ann Culotta); and H.O.P.E. (donations picked up by Fannie Franklin).

The auxiliary also kept some hats to sell at the hospital’s gift shop. The money will go to help the hospital. The prices are as follows:

Large, $6
Medium, $5
Small, $4
Infant, $3
