ETMC hospitals recognized for excellence in rural healthcare

November 10, 2017

Two ETMC hospitals have been recognized by the Texas State Office of Rural Health (SORH) for their remarkable accomplishments in rural healthcare this year.

ETMC Pittsburg and ETMC Quitman were recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction.

“Per the Hospital Strength INDEX, Texas has far more than its fair share of the acute care hospitals in the country that are ranked in the top quartile of performance based upon quality outcomes and patient satisfaction,” said Trenton Engledow, director of the state office of rural health.

The hospitals were identified by the SORH, the National SORH and iVantage Health Analytics.

Letters of recognition were sent to each hospital by the Texas Department of Agriculture. This recognition highlights the importance of these facilities to the communities they serve, as we approach National Rural Health Day, Nov. 16.
