ETMC Henderson to host health fair Oct. 12

ETMC Henderson will host a community-wide health fair Thursday, Oct. 12, from 8:30 a.m. until noon in the hospital’s lobby.

Cholesterol, blood glucose, carotid artery and blood pressure screenings will be provided free of charge. Flu vaccinations will be available for those ages 4 and older for $25. Screening lab tests for prostate cancer and ovarian cancer also will be available for $25.

Representatives from these organizations will be on hand to answer questions:

  • East Texas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse

  • Next Stop Community Solutions
  • Women’s Crisis Center
  • Special Health Resource Insurance needs
  • Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Drug Take-Back Prescription disposal

“We want to help members of our community uncover health problems early, while they’re easier to treat,” said Mark Leitner, administrator of ETMC Henderson. “That’s why we are offering this health fair. We invite the public to come and take advantage of the screenings and learn more about their health and their hospital.”
