ETMC cares for Henderson

The East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System was born out of dream for a healthier East Texas. For more than 65 years, our not-for-profit system has studied the healthcare needs in the communities we serve and worked to meet those needs.

Community Health Needs Assessment

To better understand what the community needs, we regularly conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for ETMC Henderson. The information we collect through interviews with the Rusk County community lets us determine where we allocate extra resources and what outreach programs are important for the health of the Henderson community.

Some of these programs we initiate and oversee as part of our commitment to local care. Other programs are created in collaboration with agencies that share ETMC’s goal of a healthier East Texas.

Because we conduct CHNA on a regular basis, we keep a finger on the pulse of Henderson to identify areas of growth, revise and update services, and coordinate community education. CHNA is just one more way ETMC Henderson makes it easier for our community members to have the health resources they need.

“Our hospital is a definite asset to the community. It’s modern and being updated all the time; there are specialists here who give wonderful care; our nurses are professional and compassionate. With our highly trained staff and diagnostic capabilities we can care for complicated problems; and it’s quite an advantage for both Henderson and Rusk County.”
– Rodger Sessions, MD, orthopedic surgeon

ETMC’s philosophy of care is simple – and beneficial to Henderson

  • We are a not-for-profit organization, committed to serving others.
  • We have a patient-centered philosophy. When the patient comes first, all else falls into place.
  • We believe in advancing healthcare in home communities to the highest level possible.

In addition to specialty medicine, ETMC Henderson offers preventive care and wellness. To make an appointment at our ETMC First Physicians clinic in Henderson, please call 903-655-6536.

“ETMC’s philosophy is to provide the specialists and diagnostic equipment people need and want in their community. This creates accessibility and convenience for our patients. More services for our patients means more jobs in the community – and that’s a positive impact the hospital has on the city of Henderson.”
– Mark Leitner, administrator
