Support for law enforcement

content-gfx-emergency-back-the-blueYou may have noticed signs around the ETMC Tyler campus bearing our “We Back the Blue” design. These are part of an effort led by ETMC Tyler, ETMC EMS and the whole ETMC Regional Healthcare System to show our support for law enforcement. As you know, the brave men and women who enforce our laws and provide us with protection recently have come under fire in our nation. We want to make it clear where we stand.

We have a shared mission in many ways with law enforcement. In responding to people in need, whether at accident scenes or in the emergency department, ETMC personnel often work closely with police and other law enforcement officers. We back the Blue because we know what they do – we’re there with them, shoulder to shoulder, on a regular basis.

Take a moment to read the memories, opinions and comments we’ve gathered from supporters of law enforcement. You also may wish to visit the Whole Truth Project website, founded by lawyer Andrew Hale and dedicated to protecting innocent police officers wrongfully accused of misconduct.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting all the police officers who do their jobs with professionalism and courage. And we urge you to take a moment to personally thank police or other law enforcement officers for their service. Tell them you back the Blue!

Words from supporters of law enforcement

content-emergency-suppoert-law-schlottach-headshotI have always equated the people who work in healthcare with the people who work in the fire service, law enforcement and education. To me it is not just a profession, it’s a calling.
