Here are some basic guidelines for preparing for a stay at the ETMC Rehabilition Center and general information about a patient stay.
What You Should Bring
To help you prepare for your stay in the rehabilitation hospital, we recommend you bring these items:
- Four or five changes of comfortable clothing Undergarments Nightwear, including a robe
- Comfortable shoes with non-skid soles
- Dentures, hearing aids, glasses or any prostheses you currently use
- Jacket, sweater or coat
- Shampoo, toothpaste and other toiletry items
- A list of medications you currently use
- Special equipment you currently use
- Insurance card
- Small amount of money (we encourage amounts under $5)
What to Expect
Your schedule at the rehabilitation hospital will be based on your individual therapy program. However, most inpatients can expect a schedule similar to this one:

Meals
Meals are served in the day room on the inpatient unit (floors 3 and 4). Menu slections will be available, unless a special diet has been ordered by the physician. Patients are encouraged to eat in the day room. For patients who have difficulty with feeding and/or swallowing, a separate program offering adaptive equipment and other helpful strategies is available on a daily basis.
Dietary services and consultations are available as requested or ordered by the physician. In addition to your meals, milk, juices, ice, dietary supplements etc. are available upon requrest.
