A familiar face to women throughout Cherokee County, board-certified OB-GYN physician Lucia L. Williams, MD MPH, joined the ETMC First Physicians clinic in Jacksonville after a decade of being in private practice. It's a change that her patients will hardly notice. "I've been at ETMC from the get-go. It's the only hospital in Jacksonville that offers obstetric services, and I love that part of my practice."
Dr. Williams, who is also bilingual, likes helping women in every stage of life and has built a loyal following throughout the years. "I have a full range of patients. I sometimes see grandmas and granddaughters at the same time and really enjoy caring for all of the women in the family."
The daughter of the town physician in LaGrange, Texas, Dr. Williams knew from an early age what she wanted to be when she grew up. "I can't imagine doing anything else. My job is to educate and demystify medicine so that people can understand and become part of their care. So I encourage them to ask questions and work with me to build a partnership that will lead to better overall health."
