Board-certified family medicine physician Mark Malone, MD, is no stranger to communities like Gilmer. “I grew up in a small town about 85 miles from here, and I’ve been a doctor in a small town for a long time.
“I’m very comfortable seeing patients for just about anything. If it’s something complicated, I know what I can treat and what needs to be referred to a specialist.”
His desire to serve people in smaller communities works well with ETMC’s philosophy of care. “From what I’ve seen, ETMC has a mission to deliver healthcare out to the rural areas, and that appeals to me.”
Dr. Malone enjoys treating everyone from babies to grandparents and accepts Medicare and Medicaid. “Family practice is great because I get to see people of all ages. Also, I really enjoy building relationships with patients and their families.”
