During her career of practicing pediatrics in Tyler, Dr. Ellen Melton has seen it all. From life-threatening illnesses to ear infections to common colds to general wellness exams, she’s cared for thousands of children, always standing as an advocate for her patients and their families. “I’m always trying to do what is in the best interest of the child. That’s the way I approach medicine. I want all my patients to be on equal grounds when it comes to their medical care, so I give them the best care I can.”
A native East Texan, Dr. Melton has always wanted to care for children. She is board certified in pediatrics, and although she completed her medical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, she finds her most valuable learning experiences to be the lessons she’s learned while raising her own children. “I think having kids of my own has helped me have some experience as far as what parenthood is all about. I know how difficult it is to juggle it all, so I understand what parents go through. I take care of their child like I do my very own.”
