Pediatrician Charlie Cameron, MD, had his career mapped out early. “I grew up with a lot of nieces and nephews, so I went to medical school knowing I wanted to become a pediatrician and help children.
“It’s the most fun you can have in medicine. The relationships you get to build are not just with your patients but also with the entire family. That makes pediatrics extremely rewarding.”
Returning to East Texas to practice pediatrics was also in Dr. Cameron’s plan.
“I grew up around the Tyler area and all of my family is still there, so I’m looking forward to getting back home. We picked Jacksonville because it’s a place where we could live throughout our lives.”
Dr. Cameron also picked Jacksonville because of ETMC. “The ETMC First Physicians clinic is attached to the hospital, so lab work, X-rays and other imaging equipment are right there. We have all of the resources available to give our patients the best care. Having that support behind you is very advantageous.”
