Philosophy:

As a family nurse practitioner, Andrea Oliver calls herself a generalist, dealing with a variety of health issues and patients. “I see patients from just a few days old until, well, I’ve had some over 100.”
She enjoys getting to know each patient as fully as possible. “I don’t believe that you’re taking adequate care of a person unless you are taking care of them as a complete individual.”
Oliver draws on 16 years of experience as a nurse and is pursuing a doctorate degree in nursing practice. A native of nearby Shelby County, she is a mother of four, ages 6 to 17. She loves reading, camping, and spending time with family.
Caring for diabetic patients is a special interest. “Diabetes is a complicated process that requires close interaction between the patient and the provider. Education and understanding are big parts of diabetic care. I coordinate that care, guiding the patient to improve their own health. I find that immensely rewarding.”
