After 10 years of caring for children in private practice in Trinity, board- certified pediatrician Amol Deshpande, MD, decided to join forces with ETMC and become a First Physician.
The change gave Dr. Deshpande access to the technology and support of the region’s largest healthcare system. But Dr. Deshpande’s approach to patient care remains unchanged. “My philosophy is you treat the patient as a family member, and when you’re making decisions, you put yourself in the patient’s parents’ position — what they must be thinking.”
In addition to focusing on the general health of his young patients, Dr. Deshpande takes special interest in treating allergies, asthma and behavioral problems.
Coming from a family of physicians, including parents and grandparents, Dr. Deshpande appreciates the way he has been “adopted” by the people of Trinity.
“People are very friendly and they appreciate what you do for them and they treat you as part of the family.”
