MyETMC HOSPITALS – FAQs

[expand all] [collapse all]

What can I do using MyETMC HOSPITALS?

Inpatients or observation patients (admitted on or after July 9, 2014) at any ETMC acute care hospital (excluding ETMC Behavioral Health) can access a summary of care for each hospital visit. The summary includes discharge medications, allergies, lab test results, problem lists, vital signs and discharge information. MyETMC HOSPITALS provides a snapshot of the clinical care during your ETMC hospital stay – invaluable if you need follow-up care with another provider or at another facility.

You can do several things with your summary of care:

  • It’s online for you to instantly view at your convenience.
  • You can print it. The MyETMC HOSPITALS portal provides an easy-to-use print function. Just hover over your summary and click the appropriate icon.
  • You can download your summary of care and save your information electronically on your personal computer in a PDF format.
  • You can also transmit your summary of care to other providers on the network, safely and securely. Furthermore, you can use MyETMC HOSPITALS to send secure messages to any provider connected to our system.

How do I access MyETMC HOSPITALS?

If you are a first-time user ...

1. Click on the MyETMC HOSPITALS button to open the website.

MyETMC HOSPITALS Button

2. Click the “Enter Validation Code” link.

MyETMC HOSPITALS step 2

3. Enter your Validation Code. You will find this code near the top of the printed discharge instructions you received just before you left the hospital. Enter the required information and then create a user name and password as directed. The first time you log on to MyETMC HOSPITALS, you will be asked to agree to the Terms of Use and answer three security questions (in case you need to reset your password in the future).

4. Each time you log on to MyETMC HOSPITALS, your summary of care records will be listed in the Medical History window. Simply click the one that you would like to view. Note that you may have several summaries (reflecting updates at different times) for each admission.

MyETMC HOSPITALS step 4

5. If you have been a patient in more than one ETMC hospital, your name may appear multiple times in the drop-down list in the top left of the screen. Selecting your name from the list will change the hospital (shown above your name) and present the summary of care from that facility.

MyETMC HOSPITALS step 5

If you already have a user name and password ...

Return anytime to MyETMC.org to access a summary of your care from any ETMC hospital. Please note that these summaries will be available within 36 hours of your inpatient or observation discharge.

Please contact us if you have questions.

What if I forget my password?

Click on the MyETMC HOSPITALS button outlined in blue at www.myetmc.org. Enter your user name and then click “New user/Forgot your password.” You will be asked to answer three security questions and to enter and re-enter your new password.

If you cannot remember your user name, please contact us.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, click the “Change Password” link located on the navigation bar at the top of any page in MyETMC HOSPITALS. You will be prompted to enter your old password and to confirm your new password by typing it twice. Your new password will be set when you click “OK.”

When can I see my summaries of care in MyETMC HOSPITALS?

Each inpatient or observation hospital visit at an ETMC hospital will actually generate three summaries of care: one early during your stay, one at the time of discharge and a later one within 36 hours of discharge. The most recent summary of care may include additional test results, which were processed and reported after discharge.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MyETMC HOSPITALS?

The health information provided through MyETMC HOSPITALS is not a complete copy of all your health information. Your summary of care is a portion of your health record as determined by ETMC Regional Healthcare System policies. It should not be relied upon as a complete representation of your health status, as it represents only a portion of such information from a certain treatment episode and is not updated going forward. Your full medical record is available through the health information management (medical records) department of each ETMC hospital, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

ETMC Athens903-676-1139 ETMC Carthage903-694-4804 ETMC Clarksville903-427-6582 ETMC Crockett936-545-4508 ETMC Fairfield903-389-1641 ETMC Gilmer903-841-7159 ETMC Henderson903-655-6504 ETMC Jacksonville903-541-5115 ETMC Mount Vernon903-537-8060 ETMC Pittsburg903-946-5545 ETMC Quitman903-763-6392 ETMC Trinity936-744-1132 ETMC Rehabilitation903-596-3265 ETMC Specialty903-596-3265 ETMC Tyler903-531-8125

I can’t see my most recent summary of care on MyETMC HOSPITALS. What could be wrong?

If you have been a patient in more than one ETMC hospital, your name will be listed more than once in the drop-down menu in the left sidebar menu. Note that the name of the hospital appears above your name. Select another of your names to see if your results are available for the hospital stay you’re searching for.

Also, if you “opted-out” during your hospital admission process, the summary of care for that hospital stay will not be available on MyETMC HOSPITALS. (At each hospital admission you have the right to opt out of having that stay’s information included in the MyETMC HOSPITALS portal.)

If you continue to have problems, please contact us.

If I believe some of the clinical information on MyETMC HOSPITALS summary of care is not accurate, what should I do?

Your MyETMC HOSPITALS summary of care is compiled directly from your electronic health record at the time of your discharge. Please visit with your primary care physician and discuss the need to correct any inaccurate information.
