Everything old is new again
While it may be the newest member of the ETMC system, ETMC Henderson has a long history of serving the healthcare needs of the people of Rusk and surrounding counties.
Established in 1928 as Henderson Memorial Hospital, some 80 years later the hospital affiliated with ETMC. A year after that a major construction project began, which included renovation and expansion of the emergency department, the construction of a new hospital entrance and lobby and renovation of physician offices. The community marked the completion of the project with a grand opening celebration in July 2012.
In addition to the construction and renovation project, we have invested millions of dollars in updated diagnostic equipment at the Henderson facility, including installing one of the nation’s first digital MRI scanners, digital mammography and more.
Today’s ETMC Henderson
Today, ETMC Henderson provides a number of inpatient and outpatient services ranging from surgery to diagnostics, cardiac and physical rehabilitation and a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and emergency department.
We are home to the ETMC First Physicians clinic in Henderson, which offers primary care for your entire family, as well as the services of many visiting specialists.
We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare to our friends and neighbors. To that end, nearly 20 of our nurses have earned national certification in their area of primary practice ranging from obstetrics to progressive care to medical-surgical.
Many of our programs and services have earned accreditation and certification from national organizations, including our diabetes education program, our sleep lab and our laboratory.
