Dementia refers to a decline in mental ability severe enough that it interferes with a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia among people aged 65 and older, according to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

At our next forum, neurologist Dr. Allison Hennigan, of Northeast Texas Neurology Associations and the ETMC Neurological Institute, will discuss the signs and symptoms, causes, diagnosis and available treatments of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Parking is available next to the ETMC Pavilion, 801 Clinic Drive in Tyler.

Gates will open at 11:15 a.m.
