Daylight saving time is just around the corner. With the change comes longer evenings to enjoy the great outdoors. For some, the change also brings disruption to their sleep patterns.
Sleep is governed by our natural 24-hour cycle or circadian rhythm. Light plays a major role in cuing our system for sleep. Changes in time, whether from daylight saving time or jet lag, can cause our internal clocks to become out of sync leading to disrupted sleep.
At our next KnowledgeFirst forum, Dr. David Jones of Pulmonary Specialists of Tyler/Sleep Specialists of East Texas, will discuss the causes of sleep cycle problems and how to best address them for a good night’s sleep.
Lunch will be served.
