UT Health East Texas acquires six urgent care clinics across East Texas

Tyler, Texas (February 15, 2024) — UT Health East Texas, a leading regional healthcare provider, today announced it has completed the acquisition of five urgent care clinics in the region from QuickVisit Urgent Care in Carthage, Henderson, Jacksonville, Kilgore and Mabank, in addition to fully acquiring the operations of UT Health East Texas Urgent Care in Canton from its partner Premier Health.

The transaction increases UT Health East Texas’ urgent care footprint to six clinics, as the system continues expanding access points and implementing more consumer-centric options to receive care.

“Urgent care clinics fill an important need for individuals who need a quick, same day appointment or have needs that don’t rise to an emergency room visit,” said Donald Baker, regional president for UT Health East Texas. “Expanding our urgent care options provides the region with more convenient access to our expert providers and care teams. More urgent care clinics are an important piece for us to build a better healthcare experience for all.”

UT Health East Texas Urgent Care provides walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries, treating patients three months and older. Conditions treated include fever, cold and flu, minor cuts that may need stitches, sprains and strains, possible broken bones or simple fractures, vomiting and diarrhea. Testing also is available for flu, strep and COVID-19.

UT Health East Texas Urgent Care operates as a seamless extension of UT Health East Texas. In cases where follow-up care is needed, patients will have a fast-track option to see a UT Health East Texas physician or an affiliated specialist.
