Henderson High School students learn about careers in healthcare

Through an agreement recently executed by ETMC Henderson and Henderson High School, students in the health science class will have the opportunity to learn about careers in healthcare firsthand.

HHS health science students will shadow ETMC Henderson team members working in a variety of areas throughout the hospital.

The HHS students spend two hours, twice a week at ETMC Henderson and rotate through various departments, including the medical/surgical floor, pharmacy, respiratory, outpatient surgery, obstetrics, ETMC First Physicians clinic, radiology, emergency and laboratory.

"We are excited about our partnership with HHS," said Mark Leitner, administrator of ETMC Henderson. "Encouraging the next generation of healthcare providers is important, not only to ETMC Henderson, but to our nation as a whole. The need for qualified team members is always present. We look forward to helping these young people as they explore career options in healthcare."
